Impact of Customer Clustering on Mobile Network Performance

In cellular mobile communication networks, the distribution of a customer population in a support area is often clustered. Considering this eeect in network planning is an important aspect which strongly innuences the Quality-of-Service (QoS) experienced subjectively by customers in the network. In this paper, we rst discuss two-dimensional pointprocesses and their application in mobile network traac characterization. The inclusion of cluster processes in cellular traac models is presented subsequently. The degradation of the subjective QoS the subject of the rst model example, while additionally, the impact of repeated call attempts is investigated in the second model.
